Reviews: “It gives me a great deal of pleasure to recommend Bertha Rainen’s new book, No Excuses: My Plea for World Peace, which is a must read for all ages. Her book is real, heartfelt, and touching. One minute it brought a tear to my eye and the next I was laughing out loud. It is also filled with wonderful wisdom for creating joy in our lives and overcoming obstacles that might otherwise block our pathway in life.” --- Suzanne Fairbrother, Ph.D., Psychologist, author of Finding the Goddess Within.
"Author Bertha Rainen was born and raised in a dysfunctional, not atypical, family. In her early adult life, she did what you might expect--re-create misery. After many years of immersion in the teachings of Ramtha the Enlightened One, she emerged into middle life utterly changed—a joyful and humorous, helpful and optimistic woman. The story of this now jolly being is well worth reading, and her advice well worth listening to. She is a rare thing in our culture, a white elder. Read “No Excuses” … there is no excuse not to.”
--Theodore D. Hall, Ph.D.,
author of Sacred Circle and more.
Author Bertha Rainen’s semi-autobiographical book No Excuses: My Plea for World Peace is a gem. Her honesty and her approach to the excuses most people give for what happens in their lives is refreshing and gives one pause for thought of the many excuses used. Taking full responsibility for her experiences, Rainen tells the story of her awakening from being a victim to a woman freed from the past in a delightful light-hearted way. She writes as one who has been there and moved on. In reading this book, I could see myself and how far I have traveled. This is great reading for anyone who wants to get a glimpse of what is used to deny taking responsibility for every experience. Her stick figure drawings are delightful and tell their own story. If you think you have no excuses, I urge you to buy the book and give it to someone who does use excuses. --- Bettye Johnson, Author and recipient of Independent Publishers Book Award 2006 for Secrets of the Magdalene Scrolls
I was so happy to receive your book. It is very intriguing - I couldn't put it down until the end. Your nun experiences were especially interesting to me. As a much younger person, I thought being a nun would be a sure way to be closer to God. About the only way I will get to the school will be to find someone around Springfield Missouri that will go with me. You've inspired me to start looking. Thank you for signing my book and sending it so quickly. If you're thinking about writing another book about your experiences at the school, I'll buy it! --- Trish of Springfield
Dear Bertha, I am the one who was sitting next to your partner at Blue, College, to your right. I am Loren. I finally have read your most helpful and enjoyable book. I loved how honestly you wrote. I admire how you have been able to let go of the past. Your book is quite an inspiration to me and a great help in understanding more deeply how we create our lives. Thanks for letting me know of your creative adventure, as I greatly appreciate the book. ---Loren S.
